How we design an effective website at Addmark

A website needs to do more than look good; it needs to work for your business. At Addmark, we use a structured process to create web design that is both functional and visually strong. From a kick-off to the final launch of the website, we ensure a website that appeals to your target audience, achieves your goals and strengthens your brand.

Curious how we do this? Read on to find out how we turn this process into reality!

1. Kick-off: the foundation for success

A kick-off is the first crucial step in our process. During this session, we map out the wishes, goals and expectations. This prevents misunderstandings and ensures an efficient process. For larger projects, we often organise an intensive design session in which we jointly determine the structure and layout of the website.

What do we discuss during a kick-off?

During the kick-off, we determine the target audience and the goal of the website: who do you want to reach and what should the website deliver? We also discuss house style and branding, and we gather all logos, colours, fonts, imagery and, if applicable, an old website. We also talk about the desired website functionalities: which pages and features are needed? Finally, we create a schedule. On average, a design phase takes ±2 weeks, development and testing ±3 weeks and go-live ±1 week.

During this session, we discuss expectations and make concrete agreements. This ensures all required materials are available on time, so no delays occur. This lays the foundation for a smooth project process and a successful collaboration.

2. Wireframing as a solid foundation

Wireframes form the basis of a successful design. They give a clear overview of the layout, navigation and key features of the website. Wireframes allow you to test your website without risk, as they are flexible, making it easy to experiment and make adjustments.  Being able to test early in the process makes it possible to adjust course without having to make major changes.

Benefits of wireframes:

  • Clear structure and navigation
  • Fast and flexible adjustments possible
  • Focus on functionality without design distractions
  • Early feedback from team and clients

From idea to design

Our designers start with a rough sketch on paper or a whiteboard. This helps to quickly sketch out ideas, after which we use tools such as Figma or Adobe XD to further develop the wireframe. Now that the foundation is in place, we develop the wireframe into a visually appealing design.

3. A fitting design: from wireframe to visual design

After clarifying the goal, the target audience and the structure of the website, we work on a design that matches the wishes of the visitors. During the design session, we discuss who the target audience is and what their needs, motivations and goals are. This helps to align the structure and content of the website accordingly. We also look at the message we want to convey, which product or service is being offered and which pages we need to present this properly. Finally, we determine the goal of the website: is it aimed at sales, service delivery or sharing information?

The design must ultimately match the wishes of the target audience and guide visitors in the right direction through effective content and calls to action.

4. How Addmark shapes your web design

At Addmark, we believe that successful web design starts with a structured approach and good collaboration with our clients.

After laying the foundation together during the kick-off or design session, we move on to the design. We start by developing wireframes, which serve as a solid foundation for the structure and navigation of your website. This helps us create a user-friendly and clear website that matches the wishes of your target audience.

Once the wireframe is in place, we add colour, images and typography, so the design gets a professional look that suits your brand. The first design is shared via Figma, where you can easily give feedback. We refine the design based on your feedback.

We place great value on the usability of the website. That is why we test regularly and process your feedback to create a design that is both visually appealing and functional, and that supports your business goals.

The result?

A website that elevates your brand, appeals to your target audience and contributes to your business goals. With our structured approach and attention to detail, we ensure your website is more than just an online business card: it becomes a powerful part of your success.
