What exactly does the Website Scan measure?

Eight themes: load speed and Core Web Vitals (via Google PageSpeed), SEO basics, AI findability (AEO), mobile-friendliness, accessibility, security, measurability and conversion signals. All based on your public website, the way a visitor and an AI crawler see it.

Do I need to install anything or grant access?

No. No login, no script, no access to your CMS. You only enter your URL. That also makes this scan suitable for any website, regardless of the platform it runs on.

What is AEO and why does it weigh so heavily?

Answer Engine Optimization: how well AI search engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can find, understand and cite your content. A growing share of your buyers' orientation happens there, while most websites aren't set up for it yet. That's why AEO counts as heavily in the score as the classic themes.

How accurate is the score?

The score is based on measurable, public signals and is built the same way for every website. It's a snapshot and an indication, not a replacement for a full audit. The report shows which measurement each action item is based on, so you can verify everything yourself.

What happens to my data?

We use your email address to send the report and possibly follow up once. We store your score and the scanned URL, nothing else. We don't request access and don't place anything on your website.

What if I score low?

Not a problem. A low score means a lot of untapped potential, not that your website is 'bad'. The action items in the report can always be executed without Addmark. We're happy to help, but that's your call.
