Pipedrive and HubSpot get weighed against each other by companies with the same problem: the pipeline lives in someone's head or a spreadsheet, and that has to change. Both solve it. They just do it for very different money and with very different ambition.
Updated October 2026, with prices as they stand now.
Pipedrive is a sales tool. Pipeline, deals, activities, follow-up. It does that well, it is cheap and you can have it running within a day.
HubSpot is a platform where sales is one component. Marketing, content, service and reporting sit on the same data.
The interesting comparison is not Pipedrive against HubSpot Sales Hub Professional. You lose that one on price. It is Pipedrive against the free HubSpot CRM, and that is where it becomes a real decision.
Pipedrive has no free tier. Entry is Lite at $14 per user per month, and for a workable setup you quickly land on Growth at $39.
HubSpot's CRM is free. Unlimited users, contacts, companies, deals, tasks and a pipeline. No trial period, no credit card.
For a sales team of five that is $2,340 a year against nothing. It is a real difference, and it is rarely mentioned because comparisons default to putting the paid HubSpot tiers alongside.
What free HubSpot does not give you: automation, sequences, multiple pipelines, quotes with approval, and reporting beyond the basics. Precisely the things that push you to Growth or Premium on Pipedrive.
Per user per month billed annually, list prices October 2026.
| Pipedrive | Price | HubSpot | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| — | no free tier | Smart CRM | $0 |
| Lite | $14 | Sales Hub Starter | $15 |
| Growth | $39 | — | — |
| Premium | $49 to $59 | Sales Hub Professional | $90, 5 seat minimum |
| Ultimate | $79 | Sales Hub Enterprise | $150, 10 seat minimum |
Two notes on that table, because without them it is wrong.
Sources disagree on Premium, between $49 and $59. Pipedrive blocks automated access to its pricing page, so we could not check it at the source. Verify it yourself before you calculate.
HubSpot has seat minimums, Pipedrive does not. Professional requires five seats, Enterprise ten. With three salespeople you pay for five at HubSpot and for three at Pipedrive.
This is where the Pipedrive sum gets away from you. LeadBooster, Web Visitors and Smart Docs each cost roughly €32 to €41 a month, and that is per company, not per user.
All three together is over €100 a month on top of your seats. For a small team that nearly doubles your bill. At HubSpot the equivalents sit inside the hub price.
Pipedrive restructured its plans in 2025. The old names Essential, Advanced, Professional, Power and Enterprise were replaced by Lite, Growth, Premium and Ultimate. If you come across a comparison using the old names, it is out of date.
Simplicity. This is not a consolation prize. Pipedrive does one thing and you see how it works within ten minutes. HubSpot has more buttons, including ones you do not use, and for a small sales team that is a real cost in attention.
Adoption. The main reason CRM projects fail is that salespeople do not fill them in. Pipedrive is built around one habit: what is the next activity on this deal. That works.
Price for a small, pure sales team. Growth at $39 against Professional at $90 with a five-seat minimum is not a discussion.
No minimums. Three salespeople pay for three.
Starting free. See above. If you have never had a CRM, you start at zero and pay only once you miss something.
Marketing in the same system. Pipedrive has email campaigns and lead generation add-ons, but it is not a marketing platform. If you want to know which blog post set the deal in motion, you will not get there.
Content and website. Pipedrive does nothing here. HubSpot hosts your blog and landing pages with attribution that carries through to the deal.
Growing into it. When service, marketing or a second pipeline arrive, you expand within the same system at HubSpot. At Pipedrive you buy a second tool and an integration.
One question: will this still be only a sales tool in two years?
If yes, Pipedrive is cheaper, faster and nicer to use. Buy it and be happy with it.
If you are unsure, start on the free HubSpot CRM. It costs nothing, you lose nothing if you move to Pipedrive later, and after six months you will know what you actually miss.
If you already know marketing is coming, migrating twice is more expensive than starting right once.
This is one of the simpler migrations we do. Deals, organisations, people, activities and notes come across, including the pipeline structure.
Two things to watch. Your custom fields are usually more numerous than necessary: bring across only what you filter or report on. And Pipedrive activities and HubSpot tasks are not the same object; decide up front whether historical activities land as tasks or as timeline notes, because converting afterwards is laborious.
Is Pipedrive cheaper than HubSpot?
On paid tiers, yes, clearly. But HubSpot's CRM is free and Pipedrive has no free tier, so at the bottom end HubSpot is cheaper.
Does Pipedrive have a free version?
No, only a fourteen-day trial. Entry is Lite at $14 per user per month.
Can Pipedrive do marketing automation?
Only to a point. There are email campaigns and add-ons such as LeadBooster, but it is not a marketing platform with content, landing pages and attribution.
Which is better for a small sales team?
Pure sales, no marketing ambition: Pipedrive. If you are not sure yet: start free on HubSpot and decide in six months.
What does a migration from Pipedrive to HubSpot cost?
It depends on your data quality and number of custom fields. Technically it is one of the simpler migrations; redesigning the processes is what takes the time.
Can I run Pipedrive and HubSpot together?
Technically yes through an integration, but we rarely recommend it. Two systems holding deal data produces arguments about which one is right.
We are a HubSpot partner, so you know our preference. Even so we regularly recommend Pipedrive, namely when someone wants a sales tool and nothing else. In half an hour we look at your process, your team size and your plans, and tell you which of the two it should be.
